In October 2024, I took up a neat-o personal project: creating a daily flower illustration for "Bloomtober: World's Deadliest Plants", an Instagram challenge by Peggy Dean. It was the perfect combo of my love for flowers and Halloween vibes. I knew the biggest hurdle would be staying consistent for 31 days, so I picked a style and process that was quick, fun, and kept me engaged all month long. And guess what? I did it!

My Day 2 illustration is shown above: Bog Rosemary.
To give an idea of how the project looked in action, here are screenshots of my Instagram feed throughout the month of October. The consistent style and themed challenge helped me connect with a like-minded community of artists and nature lovers.
Once I finished the instagram challenge, I decided to adapt my Bloomtober art for Print on Demand (POD) platforms: Society6 - TeePublic - Spoonflower
The creative process began in Procreate, where I sketched and blocked out the primary design elements. I chose Procreate for its flexibility and the ability to work quickly on the iPad. Once the sketches were finalized, I exported the designs to Photoshop for further refinement, adding shading, texture, and color adjustments. From there, I took the designs into Illustrator to vectorize the images, ensuring they could be resized without losing quality. This allowed me to create high-quality artwork for print and digital applications.
I’m currently open to freelance projects in illustration, product design, and custom work! If you’re interested in working with me or licensing my designs, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s collaborate on a project that can bring creativity to life!
